National Diploma in Training & Human Talent Development

This upgraded programme is designed for those who wish to develop their skills in identifying and solving problems through human resource interventions; become an agent of organisational and behavioural change; design, develop, deliver and evaluate specific HRD interventions; and achieve the required level of competency of a human resource development manager or trainer, while upgrading themselves through continuous professional development.

The National Diploma comprises fourteen modules, including competency-based training, psychology for trainers, designing and developing training solutions, talent management and development, communication skills, and academic writing and project reports. In line with andragogy (adult learning) principles, each module combines subject-relevant theory and models with implementation-oriented practical sessions. Rich learning experiences are delivered through case studies, simulations, workshops, lectures, seminars, presentations and the sharing of experience, alongside group activities designed to build analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking competency.

The programme is delivered through a convenient mix of online and physical sessions by SLITAD resource personnel with HRM and T&D domain qualifications and expertise, and is designed for professionals with busy schedules. Evaluation is based on industry-specific practical assignments, presentations, written examinations and a final project.

Those who complete the Diploma are eligible for Associate Membership of the institute. At present there are over 600 members in the Fellow, Member, Associate, Affiliate, Student and Institutional categories, and SLITAD, as the apex professional T&D body of the country, offers this much-coveted membership to its Diploma holders.
