Membership

A professional body for the people who develop people.

Trainers, L&D and HRD practitioners, coaches, lecturers and consultants from the corporate, public, education, NGO and defence sectors, on a continuing journey of learning.

Who our members are

SLITAD is a unique professional body whose members are Training and Development (T&D) Professionals from diverse sectors: corporate, public, technical, vocational and tertiary education, NGOs and the defence services. Members represent a multitude of functional disciplines, encompassing training, learning and development, human resource development, organisational development, coaching, lecturing, management consultancy and learning content development.

They are on a continuing journey of learning as T&D professionals, in their roles as trainers, training content developers, training administrators and training managers. Memberships, and upgrades of membership, are awarded by the Executive Council based on relevant professional qualifications, experience and prior learning.

Categories of membership

Five categories, from Affiliate to Fellow, and one for institutions.

    Affiliates

    Aspiring T&D professionals, such as students of the Diploma in Training & Development, or those with more than one year of executive experience in training or HRD activities who do not yet hold a formal qualification in T&D.

  • 02

    Associate Members

    AMITD

    Training and Development (T&D) Professionals engaged in training or HRD activities, holding a Diploma in Training & Development or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Executive Council.

  • 03

    Members

    MITD

    Qualified Training and Development (T&D) Professionals who have completed three years as an Associate Member, or who are admitted on prior professional learning and experience recognised by the Executive Council.

  • 04

    Fellow Members

    FITD

    Qualified and competent Training and Development (T&D) Professionals who have made a significant contribution to SLITAD and to society, as recognised by the Executive Council.

  • 05

    Institutional Members

    Corporate bodies, and tertiary and vocational education institutes engaged in developing competencies, interested in a strategic partnership with SLITAD.

Members at every level can look forward to their continuing professional development journey with SLITAD, through CPD training workshops, webinars and other interactions, with the support and guidance of T&D experts with experience and exposure in their respective topics.

Membership application.

Suitably qualified professionals may apply for membership of SLITAD using the application form. The Executive Council reviews each application against the category criteria.
